Location

The Latin Dance Festival will be held at the University of Bath (Claverton Down, Bath, BA2 7AY). The whole event will take place in one building (2 West), which is opposite the library (a big glass-fronted building at the centre of campus). Click here for a map of campus....

Daytime workshops: we will be using two venues within the building...Level 1 Cafe (one dance floor) & the Claverton Rooms (on Level 3; two dance floors). The Festival reception desk will be located in the Claverton Rooms.

Evening workshops and party: these will all take place in the Claverton Rooms (2 West, Level 3).

For those with advance bookings: please go to the Reception desk in the Claverton Rooms where the helpers will check your name against their list of advance bookings and issue you with your wristband / ticket. It would be helpful if you could bring a copy of your booking confirmation email with you on the day.

Travel

There are detailed instructions on how to get to the University of Bath from pretty much any direction by most means of transport (plane, train, bus/coach, car etc) on the University's homepage (www.bath.ac.uk/getting-here).

Local Travel

BUSES: Number 18 & 418 (bright orange "bendy" buses) and U18 (dark blue) go from the City Centre past the Youth Hostel to the University of Bath, where they turn around and head back to town. You can catch any or all of the above at the bus stop opposite the Guildhall (outside Starbuck's near the Abbey). Timetables can be accessed via the travel link given above...

TAXIS: There are taxi ranks located at Bath Spa (rail) station, as well as by the Abbey / Guildhall.

Parking

There is plenty of parking space on campus (though some is restricted to permit-holders only). Visitors are advised to park in East Car Park, located close to the campus bus terminus (visit the link under "Travel" for maps and parking info).  Pay & Display machines are in operation 08:00-18:00 (Sat) at a fixed cost of £2; however, in the evenings parking is free...provided you park legally!

Drinks

There are water coolers located in all the daytime workshop venues, which you are welcome to use.

Please note that in the evening only drinks purchased at the bar are permitted in the Claverton Rooms. Any drinks that have been brought in from elsewhere will be confiscated and disposed of!

Food

The Parade Bar, located between the two workshop venues, will be open from mid-day until 11pm. Here you can order (what I would call) Pub Food from noon until 8pm (full menu), and "design-your-own" pizzas from 8pm until 10pm.

There is also a small convenience store on campus (open 9am-7pm at weekends), where you can grab a drink, sandwich, packet of crisps and other essentials.

A "Tesco Express" is located at the foot of Bathwick Hill, on the edge of the city centre (Bath Uni is at the top of the hill).

Toilets & Changing Facilities

There are toilets located on each level of the 2 West building:

Level 1 - Large multi-cubicle toilets for Ladies and Gents (separate!)

Level 2 - Small Ladies toilets (3 cubicles), plus Unisex facilities

Level 3 - Small (2 cubicle) Gents and Ladies toilets (separate!)

For anyone wishing to get changed between the afternoon workshops and the evening party - the facilities on Level 1 are probably the most convenient for this purpose, as they provide the most space and privacy. Please note, however, that these will only be open until ~7.15pm!
